Tiffany Mccollum

Meet Rachael Ranallo, Career Specialist at Kiamichi Tech - McAlester.

We’re proud to spotlight Rachael, who has the privilege of serving as the Career Specialist at Kiamichi Tech – McAlester. Each year, she impacts over 2,000 students by exposing them to career opportunities and guiding them on how to achieve their goals through educational pathways.

A Bit About Rachael:

Originally from Sand Springs, OK, Rachael moved to Tahlequah after high school and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Family & Consumer Sciences from Northeastern State University. After seven years in education, she pursued her Master’s in Educational Leadership from East Central University, which opened new doors in her professional journey.

Rachael met her husband Adam in Tahlequah; they married in 2007 and welcomed their son, Turner, in 2020. The Ranallo family now lives in Eufaula, where they enjoy the beautiful lake area and quality time with extended family.

Career Journey:

Rachael’s educational career spans over 17 years in various roles, including paraprofessional, first-grade teacher, high school Family & Consumer Sciences instructor, GEAR UP Educational Coordinator, and middle school counselor. As the Career Specialist, she visits 19 area schools, engaging with 5th through 8th graders about their educational options during and after high school.

She plays an integral role in helping schools manage the ICAP graduation requirement and introduces students to occupations they may not have considered. Rachael also organizes impactful events like “Reality Check,” a budgeting event for 8th graders, summer camps for middle school students, and transition programs to ease educational shifts.

Recognition and Future Aspirations:

Shortly after joining Kiamichi, Rachael received the OKACTE Dennis Portis Rising Star Award and has continued to excel in her role. Looking ahead, she hopes to remain at Kiamichi Tech until retirement, cherishing leisurely days and time with family.

Rachael is incredibly grateful for the opportunities to network and grow alongside the best educational leaders. Every day is a chance to learn something new, and she’s committed to inspiring the next generation!

Join us in celebrating Rachael’s dedication and passion for education!
