Oklahoma, often referred to as "Tornado Alley," faced an unprecedented weather event in 2024, experiencing a staggering total of 152 tornadoes. The previous record for the most tornadoes in Oklahoma was set in 2019, with 149 tornadoes. Since 1950, the years have fluctuated in terms of tornado activity, but the spike in tornado occurrences during 2024 is alarming. The month of November proved exceptionally active, a month typically not known for severe tornado risks in the region. This surge in activity not only reset the historical records but also raised questions about changing weather patterns and their implications.
